Dr. Chaudhary, who is the chief operating officer of Bengaluru-based MNC Mahanagara Palike (MPP), is the managing director of the Chennai-based Mahanagar Orthopedics Pvt Ltd (MPOPL).
According to an official affidavit filed by MPP, MPP was acquired by MPOPL in 2015.
MPOP, which has offices in Hyderabad and Kolkata, has been running the Chennai orthopedic and neurosurgery departments since 2009.
Chatterjee, who also holds a degree in engineering from the University of Kerala, joined MPP as head of the orthopedics department in 2012.
The company has offices located in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune.
In his affidavit, Chatterjees said that he and the senior medical director, Dr. Vijay Goyal, have been working together for over five years.
MPP’s chief executive officer, Dr Vijay Sharma, was also involved in the acquisition.MPP was established in 2008.
Its orthopedically-based departments are in Bangalore, Hyderabadi, Chennai, Pune and Puducherry.
The Chennai orthopaedic department, for example, has branches in Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Ahmednagar and Kanchipuram.MPOP was formed as a private company on August 30, 2019.
It has over 2,300 employees.
Chaudhry said that MPP has a large workforce of orthopedists, neurologists, podiatrists, radiologists, dentists, surgeons, anaesthetists and other allied health professionals.
He said that the company has about 2,000 doctors working in the Chennai Orthopaedics Department.
MPPD’s total salary has been pegged at Rs 9,000 per month.
